Had something seriously wrong with the miking -- the backup singers are way too far foregrounded.

EDITED TO ADD: But he sure sounds good. Listening to it, it's hard to believe he would be dead within 48 hours.

oh, heck, everything makes me cry.

My guitar teacher asked me tonight what my favorite R.O. song was. He played the opening chords for Pretty Woman, I had already told him that wasn't it. Usually when someone asks me I say "Leah".

He knew that song, as well.

The opening chords of Pretty Woman, or the opening bass riff? I've been playing that [badly] lately. I just can't get the last three notes to sound clearly. On the other hand, the chords are pretty easy.

I worked on "Crying" a bit today, having noticed from the DVD that he plays it in D.

Oh, and my favorite Orbison song? The one I'm listening to at the moment, or the current earworm if I'm not actually listening.

Well...yes. I think the correct answer to that question for either of us right now, when asked what our favorite Roy Orbison song, is "Today?"

At the moment it's "Hound Dog Man."

I'm noticing that some of his more recent work has stronger echoes of his speaking voice. Interesting....
