Beautiful day...

Temps are currently (8:30 am) around 60F, so a good time to go sweep up in front of our house and the neighboring houses. Philadelphia's "Hidden City" festival starts today, and Shiloh Baptist Church across the street from us is one of the venues. If all kinds of folks, including tour buses (!) are going to be showing up on our street, I'd like it to look good. I have an email list of block residents, so I sent them a hortatory email on Thurs. about keeping the place looking nice because company's coming.
Back is much better today; knees, too. Or so it seems first thing in the morning.
My windowsill basil seedlings are looking almost sturdy enough to take downstairs.
Although it was godawful and not anything I'd want anyone to be forced to listen to, I did make it through all three movements of Beethoven's Sonata 'Pathetique.' Not at anything approaching the proper tempo (except for the second movement) and I believe I have worn out every bad word in my vocabulary. All the runs sucked. The wrist that was dinged last fall hasn't exactly regained fluidity of movement, although the pain is gone.
ETA: First hippeastrum green shoot! YaY!
