Windowsills, etc.
Feb. 27th, 2012 11:26 am'Papilio' is fading fast. The first bloom is significantly more wilted than it was when I photographed it this morning. It's unclear whether the self-pollination took, and I'm not sure about the cross with 'Emerald,' either. Time will tell.
Meanwhile, I snipped off the boy-parts and am saving them in a film container in case I get the urge to dab a little pollen on another plant.
(The deed was done after this photo was taken -- obviously!)

I'm anticipating being busybusybusy. Big grant application hitting just as I go all-flower-show-all-the-time. And the hippeastrum parade is about to go into high gear -- Apple Blossom and Gervase are both starting to show signs of color as the spathes open up, with the original Trader Joe NOID and Exotica not far behind. The kids will probably be last.
Oh, and there's a teeny-tiny seedling in the swiss chard pot -- it doesn't look the least like a swiss chard.
