Family reunion
Aug. 16th, 2009 09:05 amMore of the past. I travel to the family reunion for my mother's side of the family today, after dropping Roy at the airport.
We were geographic outliers (my sibs and me) and don't feel the same connection to the clan felt by folks who went up home for Sunday dinner almost every Sunday. Still, they are our family and, as my sister says, we won't have the old people much longer.
My mother was one of nine -- only four remain and two of them are becoming fragile and vague.
I'm taking along a pile of old family photos. I have no idea who all those WWII soldiers were. Time to get someone to identify them before no one can.
