I am thinking that if I make muffins this afternoon and top each newly-baked muffin with an inverted Reese's peanut butter cup they might be rather nice. Um. On second thought, I may try it with two -- one for Roy and one for me -- before wasting a dozen muffins (not to mention a dozen Reese's peanut butter cups) on an experiment that may be a miserable failure.

When the parade had passed by, a sea of red-clad folks started walking down Broad Street toward Citizens Bank Park, about three miles south. This view was shot from the Union League steps.

I had a morning meeting about a block from Broad St, but on the other side. Fortunately, there are some subway concourses that allowed me to cross Broad St underground and come up where I could go in the back door of the Union League.

The League was having a member open house with "tail gate buffet." That means self-service cheesesteaks with hot Cheez Wiz, hot dogs, pork sandwiches with sauerkraut and onions, hamburgers, fries, soft pretzels and the usual Union League assortment of tasty pastries. I'm glad I walked home -- I imagine I walked off maybe 1/5 of what I ate.

ETA: Omigosh. Time to get out the Reese's and the KitKats for the little hobgoblins!
