...it being a holiday and all.

I am finishing up my editing of Flower Show pictures -- finally! -- and leave you with a miniature rock garden of flowering plants, including several primulas. Come to think of it, primulas were a favorite plant of Reginald Farrer, so there's a touch of Farreriana, after all.

It is surrounded by a lot of bling, as well as a diagram and captioning for the varieties of wee plants contained therein:

1 - Primula x 'wharfdale butterfly'
2 - Arabis sturii
3 - Primula x 'hemswell blush'
4 - Primula allionii 'joan hughes'
5 - Dionysia aretioides
6 - Saxifraga longifolia
7 - Primula allionii 'anna griffith'
8 - Primula allionii 'maurice dryden'
9 - Sempervivum arachnoideum 'rubrum'

I finished my Flower Show photo editing and uploaded the whole kit and kaboodle, all 1075 photos, to Flickr. There are some miniature settings among them, but I didn't manage to get there at a time that some helpful person was willing to raise the glass. Also, the folks I knew all quit en masse in protest of some rules change.

Going to try an embed code here:

If that causes code spaghetti instead of an embed, here's a plain link:

Finally, here's a link to a search page for the miniatures. Not so many photos -- the reflections were maddening.

Thank you!

I'm sorry your friends felt obliged to pick up and leave -- that can really put a crimp on one's pleasures -- and I can see how the reflections would be extremely annoying, but I enjoyed the photos a great deal, and have sent the link to my mom.

We lost four of our best exhibitors in this category this year. Two left because of the rules changes that totally undermined what they'd been doing to raise the standards of the category...the other two just aged out, too old to keep it up.

There's an Andalusian branch of the Mediterranean Garden Society, looks like a bunch of anglos are involved as well as natives, so you might find some kindred spirits, if you wanted trough garden mentors. Probably would take a different flora for you, fewer primroses and more succulents.
