Hippeastrum seeds went in the mailbox yesterday.
I've never held seeds very long before planting and thus have had excellent germination. They'll be somewhat more mature when I start germinating them in mid-June -- ditto for you folks when you get them. One internet authority says if you're going to hold the seeds you should refrigerate them. He grows a lot of hippeastrum so I guess he knows.
I have a Google doc version of my list of classes, plus a photo of The Mother of Them All and some links to propagation videos. Short link to that page is http://bit.ly/amaryllis2015

Date: 2015-05-27 02:20 pm (UTC)I had googled the refrigerating thing and found that same info. Since I won't be here to tend the nursery school, I'll try the refrigeration method for most but leave some out as well and see what happens to each batch.
Thanks for the link! Most helpful!
