Fungus gnats

There are fungus gnats buzzing around on my office windowsill. Where the heck do they come from???

Hmmm. How do you identify fungus gnats?

My hippeastrum aborted. Oh well.

They look like miniature mosquitoes and don't fly very well. And they rummage around in the soil.

Bummer about the hippeastrum aborting. On the other hand, doesn't that plant throw offsets like crazy?

Yup. At last count there are 6 healthy looking offsets. Can/should I separate any of them from the mother?

No idea. I think you can leave the whole thing in one monster pot and eventually you'll get them all blooming at once.

My papilio offsets fell off when I started the big waterboarding project, but they're not doing terribly well. (They got waterboarded, too, and I think it may have been a bit too much for them.)
