I overslept yesterday and didn't feel too perky today. No bike ride, no walk. Saturday's fifteen miles on the bike plus two miles on my feet did me in. But I wore! my! medium! reference! jeans! on the walk to the local shindig, Bloktoberfest. This started as a modest event on our block and moved to a bigger venue a couple years ago, thank goodness. It was awfully noisy.

But I did finish washing and drying all the china and crystal and all pieces are in their assigned places. The china closet still looks pretty full but not overflowing the way it was.

Something peculiar has happened to my belly button. I am calling it athlete's umbilicus -- another side effect of hanging out in my spandex too long, I bet -- and am treating it accordingly.

I got an informal appraisal for the blue furniture I've been holding here for a decade. Not worth diddly-squat, says the appraiser. My brother-in-law and I are trying to come up with a strategy that's less disrespectful than literally kicking it to the curb.

No callus maintenance, no exercise, but I ate mindfully.

Congratulations on wearing the medium reference jeans!
:)
Can you donate the furniture to some worthy charity?
Or sell it on your own?

Remember that medium is only compared to the other two sizes I have, none of which would be considered medium by any objective measure. More like large, extra-large, and super-sized.

I'm canvassing the more distant relatives; if I get no takers by the end of the year, I'll work on a Craigslist ad.

Woohoo! Congrats on the jeans - I'll probably never fit into a medium. I carry all my weight around my waist. Ah, well.

Try freecycle for the furniture - the responder is the one who has to come and do the pickup. It gets a new home and you get rid of it.

They're not really medium, only medium as compared to my "small" and "large." I'm not ready to send my great-grandmother's furniture to Freecycle. I bet I can sell it for a few bucks on Craigslist.

Do you have a way to deliver it? Or will you just make pick-up a condition of sale?

Pickup is a condition of purchase. I don't deliver bureaus on my bike.
