Wherein I ride to another state..

lblanchardAnd not a state of exhaustion -- the state of New Jersey!
Not that I got very far into New Jersey, mind you. I cycled the pedestrian walkway on the Benjamin Franklin Bridge across the Delaware River. The approach from the Philadelphia side is a gradual but nontrivial 3/4 miles of going up. The New Jersey side isn't quite as challenging, but that's partly because it ends with staircase, also nontrivial. No thanks, says I, so being about hundred yards into New Jersey I turned around and pedaled back to Pennsylvania where I belong. Then I biked along the Delaware River until I hooked in with my regular bike route at Washington Avenue, and on down past the piers and the Wal*Mart and on past the sports complex, where people were starting to set up for their tail gate party. Thence home. Another 16 mile ride.
