I'm pretty sure I have a total of nine hippeastrum seedlings. This is good.

My neighbor stopped by to pick up the marigold seeds I started for her (as well as for me). Since she gardens in various tree pits all up and down the block I'm happy to help her out with some plants. She had a pair of boxwoods that died in their planters this year. I was happy to be able to give her some young broadleaved evergreens that I'd started from my Christmas arrangements.

I planted a pot of cat grass in a planter out back and The Scamp was happy to have the greenery outdoors.

Today I did a ten mile bike ride, including a stop at the Wal*Mart. They've expanded our store to include a full-service supermarket, and the entire place is cleaner. I saw some patrons oohing and aaahing as they entered today. It's a huge difference to walk in and be confronted with pyramids of fresh fruit instead of pyramids of Pop-Tarts and dishwashing detergent. I also picked up some additional pairs of yoga pants. This time I paid attention to the size...whether they were regular or petite...and whether they were fitted or relaxed. Also, I kept the sales slip.

I took pictures along my bike ride. But I'm too tired to do anything with them right now.

We only see Walmarts when we visit the US in the summers...and it's been good to see a certain positive evolution in them.

I miss Woolworth's, Kresge's, and W. T. Grant. Wal*Mart fills that bill nicely.
