lblanchardOh, dearie me. I still have some papilio pollen in the fridge. I think I'm about to go perpetrate a teenage pregnancy on the first bloomer of the Class of 2009.
EDIT: I also hit the really nice Class of 2006 almost-discard. What the heck, the brush was loaded with pollen!
EDIT II: Here are the critters in question
Pollen Parent -- Hippeastrum 'papilio', pollen saved in fridge
First Pod Parent -- my current favorite from the Class of 2006 (self-pollinated mongrel)
Second Pod Parent -- first bloomer from the Class of 2009
It takes 3 to 6 years to see results, but it's like Christmas morning when they finally start to bloom.
