I will need to make a long reflective post when my son goes home. The funeral is tomorrow; my son leaves Monday morning.

This was in many ways much easier than I had expected. So far.

Going through your photos for Nancy's PowerPoint occupied your mind and allowed you to quietly mourn at the same time. Going through photos helped me when the long-haired calico died. I know that losing a sibling is much harder than losing a pet; still, we grieve in our own ways.

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.

You've been occupied - the pictures, your son - I hope that's allowed all the rawness to be soothed at least a little.

I will also be thinking of you tomorrow.

Just wanted to come out of hiding to say thank you for sharing your experiences along this life journey. My husband has metastatic cancer and is reaching the point where serious decisions will have to be made.

I am also surprised that this is becoming easier than I expected at the start.

Oh, Kathryn, I just saw this. The only advice I have for you is be sure to say what you want to say now.

Also. If he has the energy and/or appetite, capture as many ancestral memories as he's willing to offload.
