The first impatiens seedling came up yesterday -- today there are three. Also four weed seedlings, but I'll pull them.
Two nopalxochia blossoms are going full tilt boogie. I talked to a nurseryman yesterday and he tells me it's pronounced no-pa-LOH-chia. He has some similar and spectacular cactus he'll root for me if I like, at $5 a cutting. Hmmmm....
Three of the adolescent hippeastrums are sending up stalks -- one looks like the bud is ready to break open. Looks like the flowers will still be pretty small. This year I'll pick one or two from the litter and see if I can find homes for the rest. No guarantees that they'll ever be anything tasty. These are highly incestuous -- mom and dad were the same plant.
The next round of seedlings are lustier infants, probalby because they have two parents.
I cut two flowers off the 'exotica' this morning because they'd totally crumbled. The other two are looking pretty crummy, too, but a second stalk is coming up.
The 'gervase' is partially open and I'm very excited.
It's a lovely weekend so I'd like to bust up concrete and plant the maple. It's a lovely weekend and we have a car so Roy desperately wants to go for a drive instead. Sigh...
