A mural on Hope Street, Philadelphia

Couldn't they wait until Obama has actually like, you know, done something?
Update: This next is not a snark, but a scary thought. A Philadelphia sidewalk vendor is also selling framed "hero" portraits of the sort some folks hang on their living room walls or place in their front windows -- including an all-in-one of John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, and Barack Obama. That one made me shiver, given that two of the three were shot dead. I'm not happy about an Obama presidency, but an Obama martyrdom would be a horrible thing -- in and of itself because it's just plain wrong, and for the terribly divisive outcome such an event would bring.

I wonder how many other established politicians, power brokers and influence peddlers we'll see in the cabinet.

Date: 2008-11-20 02:14 pm (UTC)JFK was actually no great shakes as a president, to my way of thinking, and wouldn't be on anyone's list of important folks if he hadn't been assassinated. And the blowback from an Obama assassination would be something I don't want to see.
