halfmoon_mollie, with thanks, I think:
I do like my Unitarian Jihad name. Roy laughed and laughed and said it suits me. It would be a good Quaker Jihad name, too.
Last evening it rained for the first time in more than two weeks, as a cold front came through with vigor bordering on violence. The wind overturned my potted bay tree so we brought it inside. We were so happy to see the rain that we stayed out back. Roy stayed under the overhang from Anderson House. I sat happily in a lawn chair under a huge golf umbrella. I kept getting up, though, and while I was up another big puddle would form in the seat of the lawn chair and I'd squelch when I sat down. Finally, I furled the umbrella and turned my face up to the rain. Wunderground says we got about half an inch. I believe we got more than that Chez Blanchard.

This morning I left the house fairly early to walk the two miles to the bike shop and pick up my bike, which I left there Wednesday morning so they could install the part they had to special order. Coming back into the house, I noticed what looked oddly leguminous -- clover, maybe or possibly alfalfa -- in one of the planters. No! It's peanuts! Planted by Missy the Squirrel or one of her bratty offspring. I probably won't get a crop -- Missy and the Brats will surely find them first.
( boring stuff about my doctor visit )
