The ex-PRR steam plant near 30th Street in Philadelphia, known in the vernacular as "The Drexel Shaft", was detonated early in the morning of November 15. The demolition crew put it down right on top of the old Pullman porter dormitory, right where they wanted it.

Roy was there with his Nikon and wet chemistry to commemorate the event. This is his picture.

Roy found another recipe in the Whole Paycheck circular. Two ingredients came from there. The others all came from the PathMark or the Big 8 Asian Supermarket, so it was affordable. It involved the following:

1 lb pork
some olive oil
some onions
a bit of the turkey fond he was supposed to leave for Thanksgiving dinner, dammit!
potatoes and carrots
green curry paste
coconut milk

salt and pepper to taste

It was mighty tasty, but I shudder to think what it would have cost if everything had come from Whole Foods instead of my usual $1.19/lb PathMark pork loin....
