Newspaper Deathwatch: ABC circulation statements

The Audit Bureau of Circulation has posted the most recent circ statements, showing massive drops in circulation for everyone except the Wall Street Journal and USA Today. My own local papers, the Inquirer and the Daily News, are down 11% and 13%, respectively, over same period last year.

Advertising departments live or die by their ABC statements -- I remember statement time being a period of high anxiety when I was at Rodale. Not happy-making news for the newsrooms. No wonder Rick Redfern is now a blogger
