Two data points I may want to remember:

1. The second of the H. papilio "conjoined triplets" showed its first leaf today.

2. I rode 16 miles this morning.

I'm having trouble finding pyrethrin insecticide in the stores -- no idea why. It's a good knockdown agent that I only plan to use indoors. So I ordered a pint of concentrate from Amazon. Three tablespoons of concentrate makes a gallon of fastdeath.

Oh, and something nice that happened this afternoon. After finishing my lunch and tidying up the kitchen, I opened the back door so I could dump the old water from the cat's water bowl on a plant. And there was a robin in the little clearing! And he flew into the euonymous and scolded me until I left. I hope he went back to mining for grubs.

I still don't see any fireflies in our back garden, but I've noticed quite a few in the churchyard across the street. That will do.
