My birthday album, let me show you it!
Aug. 16th, 2013 01:22 pmI should have taken a picture of every one of my transports of delight from yesterday, but I didn't. Leave it to
halfmoon_mollie to find a picture of the 17 bus, our Bus To Everywhere, and post it for my birthday.
I've had a wonderful birthday, beginning with the delivery of fabulous flowers by Michael Bruce on my birthday eve, and continuing through a day on which we clocked about 60 miles of public transit -- 35 on the bus and 25 or thereabouts on subways and interurban trolleys. In between we ate a surprisingly good Starbucks lunch in Chestnut Hill (we had another plan but couldn't walk another step without finding a rest room), had splendiferous oversized hot dogs at a place at the end of the line in Media PA for the same reason, and had a real sit-down dinner of dinner salads, adult beverages, dessert and dessert beverages while surveying the lunacy of the Night Market from the comfort of a raised porch. After getting of the 17 bus for the second time, we walked down to the Sidecar for some cognitive dissonance -- an order of fries topped with spicy crab imperial plus our nightcaps, a black russian and a white russian.
Here, sample the variegated insanity of our trip through the magic of Flickr:
