Twenty-one miles, some hilly, yesterday. Fourteen level miles today. I chased down and scolded a group of four bicycle policemen who were riding like scofflaws -- four abreast in a traffic lane instead of the bike lane, running red lights, one without his helmet. They claimed they had to break the law because they were late "for a detail." Rubbish, said I. If a fat old lady can outride them they're certainly not hurrying to a work assignment; and, besides, that excuse wouldn't keep me from getting a ticket. They looked amused/bemused, but ostentatiously signaled for a left turn when our paths diverged.

There's a fingerstyle guitar association that meets at a coffeehouse out in the suburbs. The first Sunday of the month from 1-4 pm. Which I read as 4 pm. So I did public transportation for an hour and half, including a train that was late, arriving a few minutes after everybody left. So I went home via a bus and the subway/elevated train for variety. (I got home just as the rain started -- it got serious about raining the moment I walked up my front steps. I call that good timing.)

I read so much stuff online that lately I've been skimming and paying a price.

Oh, well. There's next month, and at least I know how to get there now. It could have been worse.
