Planted the floaters
May. 6th, 2012 11:19 amI got tired of changing the water in the hippeastrum seeds I was starting by the "California" method of floating them in water until they made little plants. So this morning I picked out the fourteen plump seeds, discarded the two duds, and planted them in builders' sand etc. Four of them are definitely sprouting and a couple others may be. Four in this pot, three or possibly four in the other pot planted the old-fashioned way-- there are my eight seedlings.
Also: I planted the parsley that had been out hardening off for the past week, and brought up the marigolds to harden off.
One of the bulbs keeps sliding around in my grow lights -- I go down there and it's off. I'm getting very good at removing and replacing the four-foot bulb, although it's a bit of a pain when there are plants growing practically right up against it.
