So I'll start eating yogurt at each meal to reestablish some okay intestinal flora. Stitches come out Friday. I am so ready to be done with this tooth stuff and boy I miss my Tabasco.

I really don't want to get into video editing. I really really don't. But I did a video of a jazz band performing at our local park, and it's too long for YouTube. All I want to do is chop off a bit at the front and the back to make it fit, plus create a fade-in and fade-out on the volume to keep it from being too abrupt.

I'd rather not spend any money. Any ideas? I'm running WinXP on a box with 1 GB of memory and the video weighs in at about 800MB, so I don't think a web-based solution would work.

EDIT: Never mind. I found an elegantly simple little utility from Solveig that does nothing but go snippety-snop. I can live without the fade in fade out...

We planned a quiet anniversary dinner, since we're going to Union League Quizzo tomorrow. But we forgot dessert.

So after way too much whiskey and wine we went down to the local hipster hangout, owned by our next door neighbor, for desserts and Grand Marniers. I had two GMs, plus one huge dessert, so I'm not typing too steadily.

But I asked, noisily, about any news regarding Roy Orbison the Vampire King of Mississippi. Which caused massive queries throughout the establishment, because we are Beloved Old Farts (by virtue of being next-door neighbors of the owner of the hangout). A waitstaff person who looks like Andy Serkis finally stopped by to tell us that a recent escapade had a Vampire King who looked a bit retro, complete with black pompadour, like Roy Orbison perhaps, but who was decidedly NOT in any way someone who could be reasonably described as The Roy Orbison Vampire King of Mississippi.

So I am satisfied and feel no need to watch any escapades of what sounds like a really lame show. I do hope I'll feel like a long bike ride tomorrow morning. I will surely need it.

I was off to bed until I remembered I need to put on a base coat, let it dry, put on a top coat, let it dry, and then go downstairs and put oil on my nails and cuticles.

Okay, the top coat is on now. My fingernails better not split this week...just sayin'.

EDIT: This Barielle stuff dries one heck of a lot quicker than the drugstore stuff.
