Here's the grand court of the former John Wanamakers department store, all done up with live plants and filled with the spicy sweetness of stargazer lilies. It's quite splendid, and I recognize the names of two floral designers from the Philadelphia Flower Show -- Jamie Rothstein and Michael Bruce. Jamie and Michael will do the flowers next Thursday/Friday and next Saturday/Sunday respectively. I stopped by after work yesterday, along with a good number of other people.

I think I'd like to go back tomorrow morning fairly early and take a few more pictures.

Today I got in a pretty good bike ride for a season start -- between eight and ten miles -- as part of doing errands (getting checks signed and such). They were some very slow miles but they were miles.

I bought two geezer tickets for Alice and Wonderland for Saturday afternoon.

The sky is blue clear down to the horizon and it's getting warm

This collection of pots is in front of a gasto-pub called "Pub and Kitchen" about six blocks from our house. I took several pictures there this afternoon on the way back from my bike ride / errands.

While our leftover chicken was warming in the oven I separated out and planted a heap of rescue plants -- rose campion, oenothera, the last of the daylilies. Also a hosta. Also some feverfew from here and there. I have some sedums in pots that need to be separated and planted here and there. I've about filled up all the spaces we dug up already, and I haven't left all that much space for coleus.
