Bloktoberfest

They've already set up the Porta Potties right in front of Shiloh Baptist Church. Rain or shine, this rock music, craft beer, and food truck cuisine festival is going to happen here. Proceeds will benefit the Shiloh Baptist Church roof fund. Here's hoping that folks will brave the rain. (Not that I'm thrilled about windowpane-rattling rock music for eight hours, but it's in a good cause.)

In fact, the first couple of taps here are set up where the black Volvo from The Sixth Sense was stopped in traffic. It's a wonderful thing to walk out your front door and be able to take your pick of a dozen craft brews on tap. Bloktoberfest Philly, October 24, 2009. The event is a benefit for the roof fund of Shiloh Baptist Church. This is the first of a set of 35 photos from the event, which is still rattling my windowpanes even as I type this.. But I'm about craft-beered out.

EDIT/UPDATE: Shortly after posting this I went out again and discovered that they'd sold all the beer! We thought we ought to help them break down the set, especially given that it was raining pitchforks and hammer handles by 7:00. So we did and got so drenched that tonight (Tuesday evening) Roy's shoes still aren't dry.
