Bully at the birdfeeder
Jan. 31st, 2009 10:22 pmThat would be our male cardinal. Actually, he's on the ground, not on the birdfeeder, which is too small for him. But if any sparrow gets within six inches of him, he attacks. I'd never seen an aggressive cardinal before, so it was a surprise.
It never got above 20F in our backyard today, so the birds were very hungry.
I spent a delicious afternoon using the computer as a wireless to listen to a recording of Little Women from the Internet Archive while I knitted on the Ben.Ben.Blankie. I think I did two or three inches. (I knit slowly.)
Now I am listening to some insane young people who are having an outdoor party. It's almost 10:30 and I believe the temperature is down below 20F now. I guess they have a space heater or a chiminea or something out in the backyard.
