Farrer on Austen!

Oooof. I will have to come back to this later. The incessant scolding of women lesser than Jane Austen got on my nerves. About the time that he praised Jane Austen for not presuming to know the feelings of men, and then promptly asserts that a majority of women reads for erotic stimulation, I had to stop.

He's also quite wrong about Emma's feelings for her sister.

Lovely perorations, though.
