Why did you find it disturbing? That was one of my favorite books EVER.

And I watched the movie yesterday. It's...well, sumptuous to say the least, gorgeously photographed. My brother saw it in the theatre and said the 3d did not enhance it much. Visually it's a feast.

I was disappointed in the movie itself though.
