Wherein our guitarist learns that in the early 1990s Tommy Emmanuel had not yet evolved
One of my birthday presents arrived early -- a double album of early Tommy Emmanuel: The Journey and Classical Gas.
My, his rock roots are showing. And I've never been a fan of rock guitar gods, however accomplished they may be. Well, the Rodrigues guitar concerto movement, backed up by the Australian Symphony Orchestra, is good, as is Golliwogs' Cakewalk.
Roy says I should send it back. I say no, I'll keep it for The Collection -- but I'll probably only add a couple tracks to my TE playlist.
UPDATE: And the track listings on the liner notes are printed in...four point serifed type, reversed out of a halftone that's not uniformly dark. Grrr. How am I supposed to find out which track has Chet Atkins playing???
