As someone who dabbles in history, I'm interested (just a little bit) in how the son of a shopkeeper and prominent citizen of a central Pennsylvania town wound up in Texas. I'm also wondering, now, whether the town's founder fought at Gettysburg. I think we have the Pennsylvania muster rolls online somewhere so I could probably check that.
